A new state of the art engineering centre for 120 engineering students, constructed to replace a number of other ageing engineering facilities and bringing them all into the one building. Providing fully equipped mechanical, electronic and plumbing workshops, practical engineering work bays, CAD/CAM suites and teaching rooms providing a centre for engineering excellence to meet the exacting needs of the local nuclear industry.

The MEP services were designed to BRE BIM level 2 standards utilising the latest Revit software to produce a full 3D model of the building.

A sustainable design was adopted on this scheme, with photovoltaic array, natural ventilation systems, water saving technologies including rain water harvesting and automatic energy management systems being installed to provide a very energy efficient facility.

AJ Field are at the afore front of our industry and a cutting-edge crimped iron pipe work system was utilised for the heating services on this project. AJ Field are proud to say the manufacturer was that impressed with the quality of our installation, that they chose this project as a case study and it will be used to promote their crimped iron pipework system throughout Europe.
